Curried Chicken
1 chicken, jointed and skinned
2 level tablespoons seasoned flour
2 onions skinned and sliced
2 ounces butter
1 apple cored and chopped
2 level teaspoons curry powder
1/4 pint stock
little lemon juice
2 teaspoons sweet chutney
1 tomato sliced - optional

Coat chicken with flour mixture. Lightly fry the onions in butter , add chicken and fry until golden brown. Add apple, curry powder and remaining flour mixture. Stir well and fry 1-2 minutes. Add stock, lemon juice and chutney. Cover and simmer until chicken is cooked and sauce thickens, about 40 minutes. |Serve with rice, garnish with tomato slices if desired. If you use cooked chicken, omit the preliminary frying.
