Tomatoes and Beef on Rice
1 piece of steak
1 can tomatoes
1 small onion (cut in wedges)
1 or 2 carrots (sliced diagonally)
1 stalk celery (sliced diagonally)
1 green pepper (cut in bite size pieces ... optional)
1 tbsp fermented black beans (mashed)
1 tsp 5 spice powder
1 clove garlic minced
1/2 tsp sesame oil
1 tsp soy sauce
Slice the steak and marinate with garlic, sesame oil and soy sauce for a few hours. Parboil the veggies in a cup of boiling water for a few minutes, strain and save the liquid. Stir fry the steak, add the tomatoes, black beans and 5 spice powder. Cook until steak is tender and then add in the vegetables and vegetable water. Bring back to a boil and simmer until the vegetables are cooked. Serve over rice.
